Bulgarian Theaters Live on Internet

CONCEPT

 
We intended to create a space where the theatrical performances could be seen online in real time or like a video records from the best Bulgarian theaters.

REALIZATION

 
The project has its ground on the idea to offer the Bulgarians who live aboard the opportunity for a qualitative and innovative service at an affordable price and easy access. Obviously Internet is the best solution for provision of precise service targeting in accordance with the user’s profile and location, considering the regulations of the Copyrights Law. The project has started with team congregation and negotiations with the theaters on the copyrights and the income share. We provided cameras, directors, Internet channel in the performance halls of the National Theater and the Youth Theater. The project started by test broadcastings of rehearsals.  At the same time our creative team developed the logo and the original web design for the web site as well as a billing platform for online payments. We started the project with great enthusiasm, supported by media. Bulgarian media appreciated highly the concept and suggested to offer the service also in the country. Most of the actors liked the idea to have an additional channel for popularization and the theaters wanted to have copies to enrich their archives. Other part of the actors and the audience stated that in this way it is impossible to represent the specific performance atmosphere. In spite of the negative opinions the experienced director Georgi Angelov created a qualitative production which could meet the high criteria of consumers.

The price of the service was cheap in comparison with the European standards – the cost was 10 EUR for 2 hours live video streaming and an option for review of video from the selected performance in 24 hours after the live streaming.

RESULTS

 
The project was appreciated highly and the web site responded to the audience expectations. Concerning the income from the services we keep on optimism to progress in a better economic environment.
